Dr. Baris Onay is a Digital & Commercial Transformation Leader. He is an entrepreneurial executive with 15+ years of experience in B2B media, events, exhibitions, and conferences, operating experience in emerging markets, developed markets, and global business. In his business journey, he delivered results within many different management structures (decentralised -> matrix -> centralised).

Dr. Baris keeps both general management and functional positions as well as regional and C-Level Group roles. He has a solid understanding of operating both in tail and headwinds from various markets. His executive roles are leading in Growth, Digital, Marketing, Transformation, M&A, and divestment projects. He drives teams of 100+ in London and 200+ globally in matrix structures.

Prior to his self-employed career, he joined ITE Group plc in 2013-2020 at leadership and management levels leading a fantastic team of 100+ in London and 200+ worldwide.

In 2010-2013, he took the role of General Manager at the Building Information Center. He led B2B publisher/organizer of Turkey (100+ employees) with business lines encompassing Exhibitions, Events, B2B Magazines, Web-Portals, Product Directories, Book Publishing, Bookstores.  He implemented the spin-off of the companies’ Exhibition business into YEM Exhibitions and managed the sale procedure of this business unit to ITE Exhibitions. Ran YEM and YEMF successfully together for three years. He also represented the company at many national and international NGO’s.

In 2004-2011, Baris Onay had achieved the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in urban planning.
