Ece Tonbul is among the second generation directors of well-established and successful Turkish tourism company Paloma Hotels that represents the hotel investments of Diana Travel.
Diana Group made its first steps into tourism in 1977 in Kuşadası as a travel agency and entered the hospitality sector in 1986 with Paloma Hotels chain.
Today Paloma Hotels owns 11 resort hotels and manages 4 to 5 star Resort Hotels with a 9.000 bed capacity. It has more than 2.500 employees. With 8 hotels under its management, it hosts approximately 150.000 guests per year.
After studying economics at Basel University, Ece Tonbul received an MBA degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from Switzerland Campus of Manchester Metropolitan University.
Prior to her current position, she was the Director of Sales & Marketing of Paloma Hotels for 5 years. She was the Managing Director of the group from May 2010 – January, 2014, responsible for entire operations, finance, business planning and development. Ece Tonbul was promoted to chairman of the executive board of Paloma Hotels in January, 2014.
Apart from her active position in Paloma Hotels, she is the Honorary Consul of Belgium in Antalya and Executive Committee Member of Turkish Tourism Investors Association (TYD), Executive Committee Member of Mediterranean Touristic Hotels and Operators Association (AKTOB) as well as a Member of Tourism Assembly of The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
